The Safety Features in myToyota Connect That Help Me Drive With Confidence

We all know driving can be unpredictable at the best of time and as much as I try to stay alert and careful, it’s the unexpected moments that make me so grateful for the tech built into myToyota Connect.

For me, it’s not just a handy app, it’s like having an extra set of eyes looking out for my family and I while we're on the road. Here are the safety features I’ve come to really appreciate on myToyota Connect:

🔐 Lock and Unlock Remotely

More than once I’ve been halfway through something at home and have thought, “Did I lock the car?” Thanks to the app, I can check and lock it remotely from my phone. No need to head outside and no more doubt in my mind.

📍 Find My Car

Big carparks stress me out, especially when I’m juggling kids, bags and a to-do list. The app drops a pin at my car’s last parked location so I can find it easily. It sounds small, but sometimes small things can make a big difference. 

🚨 Stolen Vehicle Tracking

This is one of those features that I hope I never need but is reassuring to have. If my car is ever stolen, Toyota’s team can work with police to help locate it. Knowing there’s a recovery system in place gives me serious peace of mind.

🚘 Drive Pulse

I wasn’t sure I’d use this one but I actually love it. It gives you insights on how the vehicle is being driven by tracking things like harsh braking, fast acceleration and so on. It’s especially handy when someone else is driving my car and I imagine it'd be super handy if you have teenage drivers using your car. It’s not about being nosy, it’s just nice to know my car’s being treated with care.

📞 SOS Emergency Call & Collision Notification

This is a big one for me. If I’m ever in an accident or need help quickly there’s a built-in SOS button I can use to contact emergency services. And if the car detects a serious collision, it can automatically alert them — even if I can’t. Again, it’s one of those things I hope i'll never need but having it there is a huge comfort.

Why It Matters

I didn’t download the app expecting to love it, I just thought it’d be useful. But honestly, it’s become a quiet little safety net I know I can rely on. I still do all the usual things every driver should like drive carefully, keep the car maintained — but knowing that myToyota Connect is backing me up? That’s priceless.

If you’ve got a compatible Toyota and haven’t set up the app yet, it’s well worth doing. It’s free, it’s easy to use, and it might just be the smartest safety feature you didn’t know you had.
