Yaris is filled with Toyota’s latest intelligent safety technology.
Pre-Collision Safety System
Intelligent technology offers vehicle, pedestrian and daylight cyclist detection. In some scenarios, Emergency Steering Assist can help you avoid a collision and keep you in your lane once the collision has been avoided[S1].
Intersection safety
Yaris was the first Toyota vehicle in Australia to feature the Pre-Collision Safety System. It can help prevent accidents at intersections by detecting oncoming cars and pedestrians crossing the street when the vehicle is turning[S1].
Road Sign Assist
Front-mounted smart cameras can recognise some Australian speed signs (Speed Signs Only)[S1] and alert you to change your speed after the road sign has passed.
Emergency Driving Stop System (EDSS)
The Yaris’ Emergency Driving Stop System (EDSS) coordinates Lane Trace Assist (LTA) and the Electric Parking Brake (EPB)[S3]. In the event of an emergency stop, LTA is designed to keep the vehicle centred in its lane to prevent drifting off-road, and the EPB automatically engages once the vehicle has come to a complete stop to prevent rolling.
Parking Support Brake with Object Detection
Designed to reduce the severity of collisions by helping you come to a safe stop. Front & rear sensors give instant feedback and can apply the brakes to help avoid contact[S1].
Blind Spot Monitoring
Using radar sensors, Blind Spot Monitor is designed to detect vehicles in the blind spot and turn on warnings in the side mirror (ZR only)[S1].

Electric-only mode (when available)[E2] relies solely on the car’s battery, making it ideal for city driving. Because it uses zero fuel, it releases no harmful CO2 tailpipe emissions when activated.
