Performance

The spirit of LandCruiser

The LandCruiser always had a spirit of exploration and discovery backed by an incredible ability to perform in the most rugged conditions the world has on offer. The LandCruiser 300 continues this spirit, giving you the performance to get out there and back with confidence.

Engineered with two powerful choices

The LandCruiser 300 features a 3.3L V6 twin‑turbo diesel engine paired with a world‑class 4WD system, delivering a braked towing capacity of 3,500kg[G6]. For enhanced performance, Sahara ZX and GR Sport are available with a 3.5L V6 twin‑turbo petrol engine with i‑FORCE MAX Performance 1‑Motor Hybrid system, producing a combined 341kW of power and 790Nm of torque.

10-speed transmission and Limited Slip Differential (LSD)

Considerable power is delivered to the wheels through a 10‑speed automatic transmission engineered to improve performance and fuel efficiency. In the Sahara ZX, a rear torque‑sensing Limited‑Slip Differential (LSD) ensures consistent and controlled power. GR Sport variants gain Full Differential Locks, for optimum traction and enhanced off‑road prowess.

Multi-Terrain Select and E-KDSS

Available on GXL and above, Multi‑Terrain Select is tuned for Australian conditions, using advanced algorithms to adjust brake hydraulic pressure, driving force, and suspension systems. This helps the LandCruiser find the best traction on a range of surfaces and conditions. Exclusive to the GR Sport, E‑KDSS (Electronic Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System) is designed to respond to real‑time conditions, engaging stabilisers during on‑road cornering and providing more freedom of movement for rugged off‑roading.

Discover the LandCruiser 300 Performance Hybrid

See what makes the LandCruiser 300 Performance Hybrid different. In this short video, we explore Toyota's new i-FORCE MAX Performance Hybrid system and how it delivers impressive power, torque and capability both on and off the road.

What is a Performance Hybrid?

Think all hybrids are built for fuel efficiency? Think again. Toyota's i‑FORCE MAX Performance Hybrid technology is engineered to enhance power, torque and capability, making it ideal for towing, touring and off-road adventures. Learn what makes a Performance Hybrid different and how Toyota is using electrification to take capability to the next level.

PERFORMANCE HYBRID

What difference does i-FORCE MAX make to the LandCruiser 300?

The LandCruiser 300 Performance Hybrid variants are powered by i‑FORCE MAX – Toyota’s purpose‑built 1‑Motor Hybrid system designed for towing, off‑roading and heavy‑duty performance. This system includes an additional electric motor that enhances power and responsiveness (compared with an equivalent diesel-only model), working seamlessly alongside the internal combustion engine.

Engineered for power

A Performance Hybrid pairs a petrol engine with electrification to help boost power delivery and responsiveness. Unlike efficiency-focused hybrids (which are designed primarily to maximise fuel economy), Performance Hybrids are engineered to enhance certain performance characteristics (compared to an equivalent internal combustion-only model). These characteristics are geared towards adventure-focused driving, like acceleration feel, torque response, off-road capability and towing support.

High-output hybrid performance

Experience exceptional power, impressive smoothness and the seamless performance of Toyota’s i‑FORCE MAX technology - combining a 3.5L V6 twin‑turbo petrol engine with an electric motor in a single, high‑output system. Together, this delivers a maximum combined output of 341kW and 790Nm of torque.

Enhanced drive feel

Performance Hybrid variants kick it up a notch with Electric Power Steering (EPS), delivering greater off‑road precision. The added electric motor also provides instant torque, helping drivers tackle steep obstacles or navigate out of deep ruts with confidence.

Keeps its cool

An advanced liquid‑cooling system helps manage heat buildup caused by the vehicle’s regenerative braking during high‑performance driving. It ensures consistent electric torque without throttling and allows Crawl Control to operate for longer periods, delivering steady performance when navigating challenging terrain.

Specially-tuned transmission

Performance Hybrid variants feature a specially tuned transmission designed to take full advantage of the system’s electric motor. This provides instant torque assistance that allows the transmission to hold gears longer for sustained performance, while the electric motor seamlessly fills the gaps between gear changes to deliver smoother, more refined shifts on every drive.
